Title: 57 cross member trans bracket not centered
Post by: cos on 2025-01-21 10:04
Hi Members  Have a YB with a tin top 4 speed.  Noticed when mounting  trans to stock cross member  holes in CM are not centered between frame rails. Frame is square. Is there a reason for off set (3/4') to pass side?

The engine should be offset to. Mine was about the same, maybe to allow room for the steering box, clutch linkage?

Thanks for reply. I did not check engine for being off set. Had motor mounts  bolted down, spacing on motor mounts slots are about the same. Trans wanted to stay centered between frame rails.
