New Member from New Mexico, not new and not Mexico.  I have been working on Bronco's 81-94 along with some F150's of the same vintage.  While surfing for parts I found this 57 for sale, just like I drove in high school.  Mine was all white and yes I'm old.  84,000 original single family garaged for 40 years.  It's a 312 4V auto, the engine turns over but does not run. It's now setting in my shop waiting for some TLC.  The inside is just as clean and looks like it was redone custom some time in it's life.  I'll get some pictures later today and add them below. Now the search for parts for this 57.

Yes, Welcome! We do love pics, and don't be afraid to ask a question just because it may have been answered in the past. It's been a lot of years since I've said this, but being a one year/one make forum, it's impossible to avoid redundancy.
That's a great looking ride you acquired!  I'm in NM frequently! May do a show in Red River in April(?)

Yeah...at 10pm, it was probably a younger crowd driving Mustangs, Chargers, and Cameros. Twice this year already, at the same intersection in Amarillo, there have been bad accidents/deaths resulting from street racing chargers and cameros in TRAFFIC!!
That shooting in Las Cruces was at an unsanctioned car meet.

What is an unsanctioned car event?  The morning entertainment show also used the term 'unsanctioned'.

Not sponsored by a group or club. Alburquerque has a facebook page where occasionally guys posting talk about just meeting up somewhere. Actually, I do one every Saturday night down on 6th street in the summer. In Amarillo, historic 6th st. is the old rt66. I've been doing it for 10+ years. It's down to less than 10 people now, unless the local lowriders join up with us.

That's what I thought unsanctioned meant.  So what does sanctioned or unsanctioned have to do with the car show shooting?  Is this just typical media hype?

Personally, I think it's good for the CLASSIC car guys that the media differentiated. As soon as I read that, I immediately figured it really had nothing to do with our type of events. We've all seen photos of guys in newer street racers leaving shows and losing control. That's one reason I usually don't do open shows that have no year-of-manufacture limitations. It's just a whole different world.

That certainly is a huge dilemma, that car clubs or organisations can be held responsible for incidents. Our local American Car club (has been going for nearly 40 years now with 50+ members) had huge trouble a few years ago, when they held an official sanctioned weekend meet and had a registered car cruise in the evening. several participants started doing burn outs in the exit area. even though it was already in open traffic the club got a criminal complaint and fine. luckily no shooting, but as times are getting crazier all the time in Europe, knife attacks may be the new shooting over here...
