Nice!
Someone is a writer ............
(Nice Ride)
Rich has there been any movement on the 57?
I picked up the car yesterday and drove it home.
Bill, they had an offer last week on it, but not high enough. That offer would have probably worked for me if Gateway was not involved.
I've been to those big-time auto auctions. When vehicles go through the ring without exceeding the reserve, the high bidder, seller and auction rep get together to see if a deal can be made. Often, the auction company will concede a little to help bring the sale price to an agreement. Don't let that buyer get away! Good luck!
I had a good experience with Bring A Trailer (Bat), I sold my 56 T-bird on there with a reserve of 26k ended up selling for 33k, runs for 7 days and cost $99. Im in Oregon and it went to Florida all arranged by the buyer. Could be an option.
I've got to sit down and figure my next plan. Bring a trailer might work. Got a big car show coming up where I almost sold the car last year.
Funny part of it all is being in the right place at the right time with the right guy/gal walking past. Had the Edsel up for sale a couple of times, several lookers, one flew in from CA, (went home empty). Had a bunch of tire kickers at a couple of shows/runs. I also had the 65 Bird listed, guy came over to look at the Bird and bought the Edsel on the spot. Got almost twice what the CA gut offered! Go figure.....
TTT.......My price is down to 30k.
Love your car. Would have been interested if it had a Y Block in it. I'm near you in Lebanon Illinois and looking for a nice 57 Custom with a Y Block in it.

Would you be interested in a '57 Retractable then? Have a rod shop buddy who has one he is willing to part with. He bought a pair of them, but hasn't had time to start either one of them, so he is willing to part with one.
I can shoot pics of it if you are interested.
Price lowered to 27,500. Gotta replace my daily driver Subaru Outback. I would consider a partial trade of a low mileage Outback.
Rich, I sympathise with you. I had to replace our family car on Dec. 31st. I'm 75 and have always driven Ford. Our car was a Ford escape (Ecoboost) the engine failed with 58k miles! time wise it was out of warranty and Ford was not concerned in the least. You would think Ford would make an engine last longer than 58k miles? Anyway I did something I never thought I would do and bought a new Toyota. My research said they are good (maybe) .Anyway I got the lifetime power train warranty and lifetime payment book. we'll see. Good Luck. :burnout:
If your experience is like mine you will not be disappointed.
I had a 2007 Sequoia,that I put 247,000 miles on.Sold it in 2018
and bought a 2018 4Runner. It has 102,000 miles on it today and with both cars, I had no major issues.
John
Toyota is rated #1 in reliability, I just saw that last week on a survey.
I loved the Camry we had 10 years ago, but my wife wanted an suv, so she drives a Honda CRV now. My outback has 291,000 on it, so can't complain. I'm probably never going to put the big bucks into it to make it reliable again, but it still looks great, lol.
Somebody ended up with a nice 57 ready to cruise.
ttt. Still for sale
