Lynn, is the 59 a shoe in?
Years ago, I walked through wrecking yards cleaning all the hood latches off '59s. Those yards are gone!

Yes it is an exact replacement. The difference is the '57 latch has two overlapping catches that are hinged with a pins on either side. The 59's have a single pinned catch, it is MUCH easier to close.
