Title: steering canaster bolt
Post by: alvin stadel on 2025-09-13 12:57
I am asking this for Old Gasser, aka Ron. He says he still cannot get on to this site. Anyway, he would like to know the torque spec for the 1in. bolt that holds the pump canaster to the pump houseng.

Seems kind of light to me, but this is what I found when I googled it. (My shop manual is packed away somewhere still.)
A 1957 Ford power steering pump canister bolt should be torqued to a minimum of 20 ft.-lbs.
