I recently took ownership of this custom 57 Ranchero. I bought it through Gateway in Tulsa, Ok. I took a picture of it with my rustomod Ranch Wagon. 292 Y-block and fully functional Ford-o-matic. I spent a couple of weeks ironing out a bunch of issues and now have a pretty nice driver. The scallops are awesome. I'll add a couple more pictures shorty.
If anyone has history on this I'd love to hear it
Thanks
Jaybird
It's nice looking Ranchero it been all over the place. Congrats.
I don't know anything about it, but I did see it in person when I dropped my '57 off for them to sell (they didn't) 3 months ago. Nice car. I just drove mine home from Tulsa 2 days ago (400 miles).
Rich I saw your car listed there. I spend a bunch of time on this car to get it running good. Dist was off a couple teeth, carb internal problems and the valves were adjusted with 0 lash + 1/2 turn...like a small block chevy. With those items addressed we took it out and burned the carbon out of it so to speak. Did some wiring update and a new gas tank. Time to enjoy it now.
A lot of good parts on it...just needed to be dialed in.
Good to hear. Enjoy. Did you buy online or actually go to Gateway. Lots of good folks there. Lori (manager) is a sweetheart.
I bought it online. The price had dropped drastically overnight. I pulled the trigger that morning knowing the risk of buying online. However, It was worth the price even if the drivetrain was bad. I worked with Justin. He was pretty straight up. The shipping company (Cree) was great to work with.
It spent a lot of time here in the Pacific Northwest it might have began its life here as a custom, saw it at quite a few shows here in the Portland Metro area.
I found a short article about it from back in April.
