Title: Installation sheet for Polar Air
Post by: cokefirst on 2025-10-04 12:09
I am looking for the instruction sheet for a 1958 Polar Air installation for cars with the Y block.  I want to put a Polar Air unit in my 1957 and prefer the Left mounting compressor used in 1957 over the one from 1957.  Thanks!

Watching as I plan on the air in the future but I'm confused by your left mounting used in the 57 over the one from 57??

I think he meant "left mounting used in the 58 over the one from 57??"
If memory serves my Fairlane was right side for the air compressor.

Yes the 57 mount was very unique!  Lower right side, generator hung off the lower portion, compressor bolted to the top side of it.

I am going to have to proofread better!  Yes, I mean I would like to use a York compressor in the left location as used on the 1958 Fords with the 292 vs the 1957 mount that goes above the generator.
