Title: Oil Pump Leak
Post by: slopokpete on 2025-10-07 12:54
I have what appears to be a leak from my oil pump. I'm finding oil on the bolt heads which hold on the bottom cover, which they are tight.  The valve cover gasket is not the source of the leak. I have replaced the oil pan gasket some time back and the seal for the pick up tube is good and the retaining nut is tight.  I have also replaced the gasket between the pump and the block.
This is not a huge leak but certainly a nuisance which requires a drip pan to keep the floor clean.
I see there are replacement oil pumps available.
I guess I'm looking for some advice or direction before I start throwing money at parts.

Thanks
Jeff

Sorry I realized that I forgot to supply the pertinent info on what I was working on!

I'm working on a 1957 Ford Country Sedan with the 312.
