My Ranchero is ready for exterior paint, after I get paint matched to the interior material. When new, how shiny was the interior paint?
Was it "dulled down" any?
Thanks
John
As I Understand lacquer was used on all interior parts to diminish the shine. That's what i used on mine.
The paint was not shiny, nor flat, it was more of a satin finish. I found that a base for a clear coat works well.
It's a satin but more semi gloss looking. Best bet is to find and rival color part and clean it up good to check.
A good area to do so would be the inner part of the glove box lid, which hasn't faded from sun rays.
I agree it's a semi shine. Not high gloss, neither flat.

Thanks to all that have replied. I called Jerry Miller Restorations and I was told that they use a semi-gloss paint on interior parts.......dash etc. So semi-gloss is what I plan on using.
John, your opening post stated that your Ranchero was ready for Exterior paint. Typo, or it's ready for both?
Both
