Hey all. has anyone used a classic industries wagon/ranchero fuel tank? any tips, suggestions? is there any material between tank and body? also noticed it appears to be just a bit shorter (front to back) about an inch. thanks Gerald
I used the auto city classic tank-I think this is what you are referring to-and I didn't have a problem installing it in my wagon. I just added a bunch of insulating pieces on the top for vibration between the tank and body.

Mike, thanks for the response. don't know if that's the same people i got mine from, it seems like these guys are in MN or WI, would have to go back and find the website. same thing, padded top w/roofing felt strips. did have to add some spacers on the strap bolts (about 1") for the straps to pull up tight. did have the 2 fuel pick-up points. Gerald
quick update/edit. it was auto city classics in MN. Gerald

Thanks for the Hoover job. No problem with my post...not needed after the clean-up. :003:
Hello Ford originally used (5)? would say 2"X 4" 3/16 thick rubber pieces at back of tank. I believe where tank contacts the rear crossmember. Under tank straps had thin cloth type material between tank straps, I used cloth friction tape. all this is from memory.
That is correct. I think mine still has the rubber strips on the top of the tank to prevent rubbing/squeaking-I installed a new tank as my original tank needs to be scrubbed clean to be used again.

I have bought a bicycle tube in the past, split it length-wise, and then used it on the straps. Works well.
