Title: Engine knock
Post by: 57 Ford Kustom on 2013-05-19 07:17
After all that work this winter rebuilding the top end, I started the engine, ran it for a quick run, and have engine knock in the bottom. I hope it wasn't because I over heated it last week breaking g in the cam! I am pretty heart broken over this. Maybe I'll run it for a few weeks, and pull it for rebuild, sucks!   Tim

I know the feeling, I had mine built and even put about 100 miles on it and lost a lifter. The way i look at it is I have the car as something to tinker with, so i just had to work on it some more. Yes sometimes it sucks,

Mark, the funny thing is, today I started it after I adjusted the idle and no noise. I had to shut it down though, because I lost an exhaust stud on my quick run yesterday. Maybe the exhaust was just to darn loud for me to hear it, or just wishful thinking! Lol!  Tim
