Title: Thinking about some Torq Thrust II wheels for the Fairlane 500......
Post by: MT on 2016-09-06 22:14
From what I gather here, the rear wheel fitment is the main problem.  Back spacing of 4.5-5.5" generally works if the wheel is 8" wide or less, correct?

What is the max tire size with a 15 x 7 or 16 x 7 wheel?

If anyone has a '57 with these wheels, I would love to see a pic and know the tire and wheel size

My car has original suspension other than rear air shocks.

That is a very clean looking Fairlane.  What engine, trans, etc.?

Thank you, it has a 390 4 speed supposedly from a 1967 Mustang that was wrecked with 30,000 miles on the odometer.  I have a a fresh 390 6V waiting to go in it but it runs so well I hate to change it.  Martin

That is a good combo.  Those FE's are real torque monsters and plenty of good aftermarket parts are available, should you feel the need.
