Lots more to do...but so much fun to bomb around in.
Out after a long winter. it was nice to stretch the 460's lungs.
That is very cool! What a great ride! And a 460, so very cool!! And I love that stance! Sweetness!!
GREAT!!! drive it!
The car looks great Jeff! All black is always a great color choice on the Customs.
Thanks guys!.. yes.very fun car.... I am gonna swap out the rear 14's for a set of 15's and a taller tire.. the 14 right now is only 26 inches tall.... the new 235/70 15 is 29 tall and has the same width as the 14(9 inch footprint ).. but it will only lower the rpm's by a couple hundred..I have located a good 3:10 and 3:25 rear pot...(not posi) but it should allow the car to travel at 60-70 in a tolerant rpm range.
But as it stands right now. the car is a bear light to light.lots of fun and thanks to all the great info and knowledge on this board....it has helped so much.
Looks great, Jeff. I had no idea you were so close to driving. Have fun
I want that car :003: Then I could relive my old days.
Thanks Rich!..Thanks Jim!
Keep it locked up well or it will end up looking like this :003:
ha ha ha ha
My 235/70 x 15 tires came in yesterday. They are 28 inches tall? better than the 25.6" 225/60's on the car now. I will pick up 5 mph at 60, a 9% increase. The revs at 60 drop from 3060 to 2800 with the 3.89 gears. I bought 5 different speedometer drive gears so I can correct the speedometer. This simple change makes the 3.89 act like a 3.56 compared to what it was.
BTW I LOVE your driver! :003:
Being a driver makes it even twice as cool as it already looks. An FE equipped black 300 sure makes for a sporty looking little rascal! Congrats Jeff, have fun! and watch the speed limits ! :003:
The car looks great, I bet it sounds and runs even better with the big block! Happy motoring in that bad boy, I love the black and stainless, that's one of the best color combinations for a classic. :burnout:
How about some video, Jeff?!?
Looks great!
Good to see a post from you.
X2. I was wondering where Rob went. Maybe another victim of not being able to log on.
Thanks guys.. yes Rob.. good to see you back!!!........... no vid as of yet....maybe a little later.... Lynn... you and i have the same motoring set up...I am installing the new 15's this weekend and I will report back on the difference.
Do you want to race?

Lynn,guys,...
I gave a wrong number on the tires(sorry I was perusing the site)..My Firestones are a 235/75x15 which the diameter is 28.9 inches tall.. interestingly ... the tire brought the revs down a bunch...and now I can hit 70mph with a tach score of 2900..I can live with that.
Also I went to a 3:25 rear pot from the 3:50 and it did not make a lick of difference from what I can tell.....The tall tire and a 15 inch rim seemed to do it all.....
got plans this winter to do a bunch more work
Jeff
