Title: 1995 truck F4TE 5.8 roller cam engine
Post by: unclemike on 2017-10-18 14:16
Has anyone installed one of these engines in their 57 and if they did, did they have to use a front sump oil pan ? If so, where can I get one ? Thanks, Guys

The answer is yes ............. I'm doing the same conversion to my Ranchero. I bought a cheepee front sump pan from   KMJ Performance     kmjent.com     515 733 2890    I bought a cheap one so I could get the motor mounted and fired up, so I can determine its condition.

Started with '85 351W with C6.  Bolted right in with OEM manifolds.  Tossed that combo and went with '96 351w with AOD.  I used '64 Galaxie 289 mounts.

Gary.........how much clearance do you have between the oil pan and the cross member (the one with the brake line attached to it)?
Thanks

I used a Moroso 9 quart pan.  No clearance.  Modified to make it work.  And then it leaks where I did not work on it.  I have a Milodon on the 460 in the other '57...fits like a glove.  I'll be buying a Milodon this winter.
