Joe, I really like your resto of the 68 GT. Now I have ?, do you have any idea of the dealer cost of the GT in 68? The reason I ask is that in 68, I bought a 68 Galaxy XL fastback  2dr hardtop. It had everything except air. 390 C6 bucket seats ect. The dealer price was $3980.00. I still have all the paper work from when I bought it. Just wondering of the price difference. As you know times have really changed, Not long ago I looked at a new zero turn lawn mower and  they wanted over $5000.00 for it.

Thanks Alvin, and I actually do; here's my window sticker:

When I was 14 years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned 21, I was astounded at how much he had learned in the last 7 years!

I took it to a friends B-Day party (a BIG Ford guy) a few weeks back and had a slight vibration after 75 mph and a gear whine. I found the car is geared to low with the close ratio 5 speed so I am going to swap out the 4:11's for 3:50's anyways. Other than that, she ran fine, very happy with it.
I adjusted the driveline angle and it is slightly better, but I think I need to shim the rear axle. I ordered some shims and will try that when they come in. Unfortunately, the weather has kinda sucked around here lately so not a lot of chances to use it, although the wife and I did take it for ice cream last night (thank God for heat!).
I also took it to a local car cruise Friday night and people seemed to like it.
I do have a new set of gears in the shop to install and will probably start that some time tomorrow.
I'll keep you posted.

Okay, so I swapped out the 4:11's with a new set of Richmond 3:50's from Speedway and find the drivability much better w/ the close ratio T5.

Also installed a 2.5* shim:

...and the driveline angle is now within range:

I took it out on the highway and @80 the vibration is gone.

At 80............I didn't think Mass. had highways at that high of a speed limit, lol.
You seem to have nailed the cause of the little irritants pretty quickly. Good on you, now if gas prices go back to where they were, you can drive it to Texas.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

By way of Branson MO! There are pork loin steaks in the freezer, a BBQ on the porch and Guinness in the fridge!  :003:

That you are an adventurous spirit looking to travel and explore the roads of the country in that fine steed, traveling Rt. 66!  :burnout:
(Okay...so my place is a slight detour off of the Mother Road...but...not much.)
