Ordering wheels

I'm looking at getting a set of wheels make for my 57 fairlane, but want to be as well informed as possible. I know the stock wheels were 5.5 in. wide, and backspacing was roughly 3 1/2 in. I'm looking at getting a nice set of 16's, and would like to do 16 x 7's all around. how much luck have others had running this combo. I estimating i need atleast 5 in. of backspacing also, and probaly around a 0 offset.

so if you were have wheels custom made, what measurements would yo urun, assuming you were in stock form. (no stretched wheelswells, etc....)
