My 57 originally had a 312ci and auto trans.  It now has a 390ci and c6 tranny.  I cannot find physcally,or in any parts info, the activation switch for the back up lights.  The bulbs are in the tailights.  It is almost like the switch was never available.  Does  anyone know if the switch exists, and where it should be located.  Thanks

The original switch would have been located on the shift linkage on the steering column under the hood.

Thanks Gerry,  would the back up light switch be part of the neutral safety switch.  It looks as if it could be.

Yes, it's the same switch, double functions.  Also, be advised that the tail lights have to be on for the backups to work.

Thanks John

I had no idea it was a double function switch. I knew where it was but never had a car with those new fangled backup lights.  bart

Gerry, John,
Thanks a bunch.  I have been looking in different publications and service manuals for quite a while and never could find it.

Just a quick note- If you can get a 58-59 switch, you can start in park in addition to starting in neutral.
