351w / C4 speedo cable

We are getting down to the basics in planning to put together our Country Sedan / 351w / C4 and the question came up about a speedo cable that will work with the original Speedo / C4. Any thoughts anyone ?

Try the original cable.  The original cable from my 36 Chevy bolted into the FMX behind my 351C.  The gear fit over the cable end after I ground the flats on the cable.  Been in the car since 1978 working like a champ.  The 66 Falcon Ranchero I built has the stock 66 cable in a 98 GT 5-speed.  Correction, just noticed my fingers got ahead of my brain.....it was an 89 5-speed.

I am also running a 351w/c4 combo , the cable I found that works is for a 64 falcon it has the correct threaded end that fits the 57 speedo and is the right length, the napa part is #BK6151644

I used one for a 65 Ford F100, a little longer than the Falcon part.  Any early 60's Ford will work, up to about 66 or 67.  They have the threaded connector at the speedo head, and the standard fitting and drive at the bottom end.  Good info and part number up there, Chero..

65,66 automatic mustang cable worked just fine on my 57 fairlane which has a 351 and a c4.
