234 years ago 56 Americans stood up for freedom in the Americas, good day for all of us. Read recently that support for that declaration and the ensuing war broke out just about evenly. One third for breaking from the British Empire, one third supporting the Crown, and one third that just wanted to be left alone.

We should remember that the original signatories of the declaration pledged their lives, fortunes and most importantly to each other their "Honor". Not sure that we could count on that pledge being repeated today by Congress.
