I need to repaint my steering wheel, is there a special way to do it?  Thanks

My steering wheel had so many cracks it looked like it was hit by a truck.  I filled all of the cracks with epoxy then followed up with bondo from the auto parts store.  I sanded, primed and resanded for about a week.  I painted it with black gloss Rustoleum from a rattle can and it looks great.  If you take your time you can get pretty nice results that way.  So far, no problems.
