rear axle... not looking for trouble, but...

just wondering what service I may need to perform on my rear end... currently seems to be working ok when I drive the car, no leaks, no funny noises... but with a unit this old (never rebuilt that I know of), I'm wondering if there is anything I should look out for or something I ought to do to preserve its working condition...

stock 272 engine, mostly weekend driver...

any suggestions would be appreciated!

I would just change the oil in it. If it has a posi make sure to use
the right stuff.
