Has any one come up with or used a different hood latch the stock one?

I Just changed a 1957 hood latch set up with a 1959 ford latch and hood pin. Worked real good.

I'm Thinking of Drilling a hole on the firewall and running the release cable into the under dash.  In trying to clean up the engine compartment.

Cool...that's what I did to mine, well, before I put that crappy cowl induction scooped hood on it.  What was I thinking?  Hindsight being what it is, I shoulda kept my crites flat stock hood on it...
