Looks as if the tail light lens are 64 Galaxy 500 XL ??
i always thought they would look good on a 57.
I had and may still have a set from a 63 (I think)

With metallics, you have to watch your overlap also.  Too much overlap is what causes the metallics to pile up, causing stripes. At least thats what caused them the first time I painted metallic, lol.  It looks great Rich.  Cant wait to see it together.

I think that is more apt to be the problem I had, along with the larger nozzle size of the primer gun. I like to double coat my next to last pass, and then stand back as Bill talked about with a light but steady misting for the final pass.
I think I had the paint on so heavy and not enough inbetween coats time, that the misting just kinda souped in with the heavy cover coats. I'm just thankful it only happened on the hood.

Ron...thanks. The lenses are 63 Galaxie 500 XL(the XL is different). I did handmake the outer stainless ring on the lenses though. The '63 lenses did not have an outer ring.
