My question is will the fordomatic fit the 352 FE motor?
Will I need a different torque converter.
Is the pilot bearing hole in the crankshaft the same as a Y-block?
Will the fordomatic hold up?

Put an FE in my car in the 60's.The Fordo bolted up. I think the convertor was as F-1. My trans man sold me the convertor.
It was behind a 427 and did a good job. :002:

Bought a 57 Fairlane in 1965 with the original Ford-O behind a 352 FE. Trans was originally behind an F-code 312 that was drag raced. When I sold the car with 100k on it the trans was shifting just fine. It had been rebuilt early on in its racing career with all heavy duty parts. Sorry don't know the details, but was done by a Ford dealer mechanic who is now deceased.

Sorry to be stupid, but what is a f-1 converter and where would i get one?

shopratwoody

I would think a part number maybe. That's just what the trans Guy told me. I bought it from him.
