I have currently 50% of people I know say should just run my car as is. Original 292 heads, valves etc. The other 50% are telling me to put lead additive in every time I fill. Just wondering your guy's thoughts too.

I am running more rich off the carb right now, because I didn't want it to lean with straight unleaded. Is that right?

My 351C in the street rod is a 72 model, pre hardened seats heads, and I have been running it on good ol hi test since 1980 with no issues.  That's 136K now that I put on it and I have no idea how namy were on it when it was pulled out of the wreak.  Run it, if it takes a dump, fix it.  You'll spend as much on the additive as the inserts would cost.....

http://www.msra.com/NonOxygenatedFuel/NonOxyOct2011.pdf This may help. You really don't want oxygenated gas for old cars.I run this in my Falcon with a splash of additive. That being race fuel.
