Under hood insulation

Does anyone know if the Fairlane originally had insulation under the hood.  It looks to me that there is space there where it should be.  If so does anyone know where to get it.

Of the six I have had/have none had any.  Never seen any advertised in the many vendor sites/catalogs either.

Some of the hoods that I have seen had what looks like undercoating sprayed in the open spaces between the inner supports.
