OK...her's my total critique of what your car needs changed..not that you're asking...I never noticed that shifter boot before. hmmm.

OK Rich, come on, what are you thinking that would look better? It's not that well sealed because smoke was coming up from my exhaust paint setting when I was finally driving it. Key word was. I've got the rear springs out for re-bushing right now, just finished the steering shaft -I indexed the u-joints 90 deg out-of-phase by machining a new double d shaft, works great now. Got to get it back on the road for our local May Day Parade!
