Been very busy with work and Famlia.... but I did get 30 minutes to myself(oh joy!)
I wanted to start cleaning my 57.... the good news is there is no real cancer or body rot.
Just really filthy and dirty.Waiting on the weather here to get a bit warmer....
But i did begin to clean the roof and get that good Ole Red Texas soil of it it and remove some of the burn.
30 minutes goes fast!

I am very hesitant to use any water on this car.....(to clean it).....I always just use vacuums, air hoses and lots of glass cleaner to clean the outer body panels.... if I get out the power washer.....it would go much faster.... but since I live in the rust bowl.... moisture is my enemy.

Get out the power washer!  Water is not your enemy.  Dirt and crap are the enemy.  If the car is clean, the water will evaporate.  Jump in with both feet...even if for only 30 minutes.

Awesome, Jeff...keep documenting and keeping us posted!

My 30-minute project that turned into a couple hours was changing the aftermarket chrome thermostat housing on the 302 that leaked. Seems to be a common issue and I got great consultation from my Project 302 partner and several guys at car cruises lately.

I got the thermostat housing that uses an O-ring. Success. Bought from Jegs...

It actually would have been worthy of a short solo Project 302 episode...but I only had 30 minutes-that-turned-into-a-couple-hours.

It was 102 here yesterday...will not be much cooler today.

A few of us in SoCal are very lucky we can drive the cars all year. I try not to drive on the rainy day we get.

I have been looking at Tim Allen's '55 Ford...

...dammit...wish he would have used a '57 Custom 300 like yours, Jeff! A 55-57 T-bird hood scoop would look good on these, too.

After spending a good part of the week putting in a new clutch, throw out bearing, U joints, at 66 it wasn't as easy as it use to be I'm finding out, I took it out for a ride yesterday in the SO CAL 100+. No air just like the good old days, the wife joined me but wasn't overly impressed  :003:.

I was busy this afternoon passing out tiny, little mugs of hot coco to the hummingbirds.

That's funny. I'll bet the hard part though was making the tiny little marshmellows.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

To Hiball, I know what you mean about that age thing. At 60 this 57 may well be my last , and that is if I'm lucky enough to even get finished.Retired or not, I don't get as much time on the 57 as I want.
