When I raise and lower the hood it sounds like I pulled the tail off the neighbors cat, I've lubed some, trying not to dump too much lube everywhere. Is it the spring? or what?
Thanks

John, my painter got tired of the noise and oiled the heck out of the springs and anything that moved, noise gone.  Mark

If the hook doesn't squeak it's not a '57 Ford!

Putting lithium grease in the right places can fix the noise.

Some of the hood hinge track can be accessed inside the grille with the hood down.

Every 57 I have had squeaked, came as standard equipment  :003: I have been able to lube some of it out but never entirely.

Thanks guys, I'll fill the weed sprayer with 90 weight tomorrow and go after the squeak!

I'm glad you guys brought this up. LOL...mine are very very quiet. Does sitting on a shelf wrapped in shrink wrap count? Seriously, I think after reading this thread, I'll try to install some type of insulators when I assemble mine.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe
