Has anyone else bought the front disc brake setup from Drop N Stop for their 57. I bought mine about 4 years ago and all I remember about putting it on was the calipers marked left and right were designed to go on the opposite sides. Also my kit had no drop, it was just conversion.
I need to know which brake pads to get. Best I remember they were from a GM car.

Jim why not just call them and get the RIGHT information or use the ''contact us'' link on their website.

After I wrote the post I looked on the web and found them. I thought they had went out of business. Dave from Drop N Stop called me back and told me my pads were # D159. The fit a Chevy Celebrity. Thanks.

Ditto what Zap said. It sounds like you got a different kit than what I got, and what I believe most of the other guys got. Mine were Granada, and dropped, and I believe the Granadas will give you a drop of 1 1/2 or 2 1/2  depending on what you want. I also don't remember anything about calipers being reversed from "as marked". What you said all adds up to something different.
Dave's a great guy to do business with. His website link is on our list of "supplier links".
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

I did get something different. I didn't want a dropped spindle. My kit came with the power brake booster, dual master cylinder, hoses, calipers and pads and caliper bracket. I didn't get dust covers (backing plates ) with this setup either. I didn't get disc brakes for stopping power. I got them so my fenders didn't look like they were about to come off the car at 100 mph. I never could get balanced brake drums at all speeds. Now, my 63 is entirely different. The drums on that car is just as smooth as the discs on the 57, go figure. PS. Yes, each caliper was designated left and right. They had to be switched.

A few of the disc brake conversion kits I've seen on eBay have used Chevy S-10 calipers and pads.

Looked at the web-site but didn't see a kit for '57s. Did you use the 62-67 Fairlane kit?

I think it was 57-64 Ford Full Size best I remember. It wasn't for Fairlanes.
