Fuzzies

Much talk about replacing the fuzzies on the moldings of our cars and what a pain in the a$$ the staples were/are.  Funny that they send new staples along with not a hint of how to put it all together.  Did the Edsel today after getting more rivets....

I have found that 1/8" X 5/16" pop rivets do the job very well.  Clamping the new fuzzy in place a little at a time, (that would be starting where the thing is closest to being dead on), drilling the hole, popping the rivet, re-position the clams after bending/tweaking the fuzzy for fit, drilling and popping untill all is well.  I try to put the rivets close to the top of the fuzzy and where the original staples were.  If the tweaking will not give consistant gaps and the look desired add a couple of more to get it all "tight".  You can see the rivets, I put a drop of black paint on them and after it dries they just go away.  The pictures show the process and how they look when finished up.
