Do any of you guys that bought the Auto City Classic aluminum radiator know for sure what the fitting sizes are for the tranny cooling lines? ACC doesn't know for sure, he thinks 5/16 or 3/8 pipe.
Thanks

After a rough thread dia check, I purchased a 1/8" pipe thread nipple @ Lowe's just to check, and it appears to be the correct size.

The 1/8 pipe is correct.
Do you have a plastic pet-cock?
Mine was stripped out from the factory, so I taped it to 1/4 pipe and put in the normal pet-cock.
The one I had was metric, with very low thread percentage.
Just a thought.

I do have the plastic petcock....should probably take care of that now while it's easy. Thanks for the confirmation on the 1/8 fitting size.

Thanks for reminding me, Harry. I had to remove the fan shroud today to get to the tranny cooling line fittings. While i had the shroud out, I taped the hole out for a brass petcock. Mine was the same as yours..plastic metric fitting (go figure...for a replacement '57 radiator?), and like yours was a bad plug...just jumped the threads even with finger tightening. I taped it out to a 1/4 npt thread as you did. Didn't even have to redrill...being aluminum, the 12 mm hole was close enough to the normal 7/16 drill size for a 1/4 pipe thread.
Funny, the tap I bought @ O'Reilly's was made in Japan...kinda reminded me of the old days.
