replacing horn wire thru steering column

so, what's the "secret" to getting the horn wire thru the steering column down thru the steering box?  the old one came out easy enough, but the new one stops about 2/3's of the way down into the column...

If I remember right you put the wire in from the bottom not the top. But then again my memory isn't what it used to be. I think!

chalk one up for persistence... ran some weed wacker string up from the bottom, tied the horn wire to it, then pulled it back thru; whatever was blocking the hole came out when the knotted string came thru...!

oh, if all the problems were this easily solved!
