I'm in the process of restoring a 57 RHT and the drivers side door has some real issues, I have a real cherry door on a Fairlane 500 2 door post that I'm parting out, and would like to use this as the replacement.  The interchange book says it should work, measures out the same as retractable door. Have any of you made this switch and if you did, were there any unforseen problems with vent window and glass runs.  Take care, Alvin

The door shells are the same. Retract vent window assemblies are different than all other 57's.
Door glass for retract, conv and 2dr htp are same.
So you can use the shell but, all the guts will have to be from your retract.
I've done this a few times. It's not hard but, you will have to make all the adjustments for fit.
The shop manual covers this. Take your time it's slow going.
Nows the time to call Carpenters for all new seals and parts.
Goodluck,
Ron.
