will a 53 3spd o/d trans fit in a 57 s/w with a 223?

I just this post, sorry. It should work, the only thing that could possibly be different is the splines on the input or out put shafts. Worst case you may need to change the clutch disc or front drive shaft yoke.

after doing some research,the clutch splines are the same the overall length is with in a 1/4 inch,the trans mount within a 1/4 inch,use the 53 drive shaft yoke with a convergion u joint.looks like it should fit
