Well I ordered some material to match what came on my door panels and guess what . Its the color of the seat material that they said was in correct . Now they are saying they made the door panels wrong and I need to cut a sample of the material off and send it back so they can see what it is . Im starting to think I should have just done my own thing or left it the hell alone .

I had the same problem with them trying to get the correct headliner for my Edsel Pacer.  It takes the exact fit as a 57 - 58 Ford 500 2dr ht.  They got the pattern correct but I have no idea what car they were cut for.  It took 10 weeks and three tries to get the correct item.  Never cost me any extra, just a delay in being able to put the glass back in the car.

After calming down I called back with what I thought was the fair solution . I send back the panels to be corrected and the extra material and they refund my money for the extra material and shipping the panels back . They agreed which does make me happy but point was I was guaranteed at time of order I would have everything before Fathers day and when I called the first time after seeing there mistake they claimed I was wrong .

Finally,
I know what you mean about missed deadlines, my engine is still not back from the machine shop jail house. I brought it to them in April, he warned me that it wouldn't be done until June. But, it is now nearing July, and he keeps saying next week, next week..... Unfortunately in Vermont, machine shops are scarcer than hens teeth, so I am at there mercy. They keep blaming it on the start of race season, I guess I will just hold my tongue, and take a number, take a seat. Still stinks!

Regular customers (RACERS) always get ''front of the line'' at most machine shops. They pay premium for premium service. Its a very steady and loyal customer base. When we were road racing years ago wasn't unusual to drop off a head on monday and have it ready on wednesday. But don't feel bad we dropped off a ford flathead at a highly recommended shop and it took a year and a half to get it back.

It doesn't hurt to call them once a week and politely inquire about your engine. Some shops will ignore the job if the customer shows no interest on delivery date.
