throttle pedal linkage

We asked this in the tech section, but I guess it's not getting seen there....is the pivoting rod ass'y. that passes thru the firewall the same on 6 cyl. cars as 8 cyl. cars? We were guessing it's only the final carburetor linkage rod that varies?

On stick shift cars, they are the same.  On FOM cars they are different.   John
