Mass Air Flow Sensor

I was browsing my old pics this morning when I ran across this. This was a high buck Zepher if I remember correctly. With my issue I'm having to resolve with going back and making room for the maf sensor I deleted, I immediatly noticed his in the custom built air intake...however, if I'm looking at his correctly, his is a dual intake plenum, and the maf sensor is only working on one side of the intake. How does that work???

if the one side is fake,that would work.

The other side could be used to route wires and hoses into the passenger compartment.  No way would that work if both sides let air into the intake.
