Have to get a friends 55 Sunliner from my shop about 12 miles down the road to the body shop. The hood is off and I have heard in the past that this can promote overheating .
I have driven the car some since getting the fresh drivetrain in and it seem fine . Anybody had a bad experience related to leaving the hood off ?

Has no effect on a 57. I ran without for the first 250 miles after installing the new engine..

May even run cooler due to loads of airflow

Running that car without the hood will not make it overheat.  I can't even remember how many times I did that and there were no overheating issues.  .
