our pal has not been able to log on for over a day, he's tried everything  he can think of from his end even rebooting his computer. he posted over on that other site asking if anyone else was having problems logging on. wondering if any changes were made that won't let his ancient operating system work or his joking words '' been banned''. James could you send him an e-mail assuring him he's still with us and check if somehow his link is broken.

    I just sent rich an email hoping that it can get straightened out soon.  Computers are very daunting to me.  Honestly I would rather make a body panel or repair some rotted out part rather than have to deal with how to get a computer working properly.  Jay

I just set him a temporary password.  If that is not it, it is on his end.  I logged in with his username and the temp password I set for him.  Couldnt read anything because it was apparently set to albanian.  I reset it to english.  If rich is albanian, sorry, you can set it back, lol.

Hey guys, I'm at a friend's shop using his laptop. Got on with no problems here (with the new password James sent). Apparently the problem is with my computer. I'm using Vista, btw. I'm going to have to find a computer expert to help with this one. I just can't get to the forum at all, only the home page. doesn't matter how I try to open it, it just comes back "can't open the website". No problems with any other websites I go to. Thanks James and Zap....hopefully I'll get this figured out.

I have an old laptop at home with Vista still on it, I will try to log on tonight with it and see what is up.  The newest version of this forum is just simple php, should load on anything.  Maybe Rich has a bug on his computer?  Run a virus scan and see if it catches anything..I use Malware Bytes and AVG, usually stops everything.  Good luck, Rich

I am a VISTA user with no problems.  Now have Avast for protection.  Prior system (forget what it was) prevented me from logging on to any secure sites.  Don't like VISTA but don't do anything but look at a couple of car sites, do ebay and email.  I don't tweet, IM, text or twerk......do search with google from time to time.  Computer before this one was ten years old.  Threw it away when the printer/scanner came home.  The software to run it ate all the hard drive on that thing.  Got this one in 2006 I think.......?

I'M BACK....on MY computer!! I rebooted my wireless router at the router instead of the computer, and at the same time followed a suggestion from Thor to delete my browsing history. I'm not sure which did the trick, I suspect it was Thor's suggestion. He told me something in a past connection could have somehow got corrupted, and the computer automatically will keep trying to use that history instead of a new one. Thanks Thor, and thanks for your help, James and Zap.
We use Mcaffee for antivirus. Has been pretty good thru the years.

Mcaffee, That's what I had.  Computer doctor said it had corrupted two "load files" during their last upgrade/update and he simply updated the files to correct the error.  It seams like Mcaffee realised what had happened because they sent a "fix" but my machine did not accept it.  That was his story/explanation as he asked me for $65.  Money well spent as my machine has been happy for the last three years!
