Power Seats

I've been beating my brains out trying to figure out these power seats. Going by the attached wiring diagram, the black wire on the switch sends power to one of 4 wires. The red and yellow wires are the directional lines that power the seat motor cw or ccw depending on which one is used, and the blue and white wires operate the horizontal or vertical solenoid. They all do exactly what they are supposed to do. The problem is, if you want the seat to actually move, you have to power a solenoid and a direction line at the same time. I can disconnect all the switch wires and short a direction wire and solenoid wire together along with 12v in any combination to make the seat move forward, back, up or down. I've taken the switch apart just to see how it works internally, and it is only designed to apply 12v to one of the 4 wires. Anyone have any ideas?
