I am putting a 390 back into my 58 Courier and am looking for headers. My budget does not allow the $800 sets, so have been searching. Ebay now has some stainless shorty FEs, (China made..gag), but the price is great. Has anyone tried these? I will attach a link. Any help appreciated.

I am using a set of headers designed to fit a FE Mustang/Fairlane circa 1967, 1968. They were originally made by FPA, I got mine "used". I think Hooker made a set for these cars that fits too. I doubt the shortys will fit but at that price maybe worth a try???

I have read an older post about the FPA headers. Those sound like they look and fit great, just the price is kinda hard to take. I had a set years ago that were from good ol' J.C. Whitney. Had them on a 428 P.I. in a 58 drag car. We somehow shoehorned that engine/C6 into a 66 Mustang coupe, and the headers (unbelievable) fit with very minor mods. Then that car got sold and that was the last set of FE 58 headers I had seen. I am considering those stainless shorties from Ebay, but I won't have the engine in my car for a while, so won't really know about the fit. Any more help appreciated.

I am using a set of vintage Hedman headers..... made for a FE Swap in a 57 ford.. they were on the market in 61 or 62.....Square flanges jobs.... Can't seem to find the pics at the moment.I like them..... I am sure there are better "performance" headers on the market now..... but that's not for me.

I will try to find the pics later on

They look just like the FPA headers on my F.E. in my 57 ragtop, but I have the G.T. bolt pattern. It looks like someone has bought a set of FPA and are having them made outside.

Are you talking about the Ebay cheapies looking like the FPAs? If so,,,I might have to think about it. I won't have the engine in my car for a couple months, so probably should wait so I can test fit anything I buy. Thanks a lot everyone for the help.
