Anyone know the difference between wagon/sedan senders? Arm-float?  thanks

Bagboy,

The arm's on the wagons and rancheros were created with a two bends on the arm and is slightly longer due to the saddle design of the gas tank.  The retractable and regular sedan ones do not work properly in that the design of the arm causes the float to hit the baffle in the tank.  I have been looking for reproductions for my ranchero for 5 years now.  Bob Drake Company started selling new tanks a few years ago, but no senders, which makes NO since to me.  It has been a source of irritation to me for years.  You can bend the arm on the sedan sender and make it work, sort of, but the readings are somewhat inaccurate at times, depending on how you bent it.

If it won't fit, force it.
If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
