Hi all,
I noticed in the trunk on driver side only a 1/4 rod .
It start at center of trunk latch ,it goes through a rubber grommet . Then goes
across trunk lip, up over  the tail light then down to the well area behind tire.
It looks like a tension rod that some manufactures use as a trunk lid  spring, but it has nothing
to do with the trunk lid.
Any ideas what this is for?

ragtop

The mentioned vent tube exits the tailpan above the license plate.....close to, but not at the center of the trunk latch.
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

yes Jeff, sure has been a long day all year. :)

Part of the problem comes from not knowing the 57 like probably 99.999% of the guys here.
I own a few other old off topic cars , that I know inside and out and take them apart and put together in my sleep
and I have seen people ask about certain things about those cars that are in that hobby. Its like how can you own that
car and not know what the H@$% they are working on .
Uhhhh guilty. :/  I bought this car only on the looks of it, absolutely glad I did, and keep learning more and more about
mostly through the good guys on here.
Thank you.
