:canada: how do you remove the trunk emblem and lock. I want to remove it and disassemble it so I can repaint the inside and clean it up. I also need to get a key made for it the one I have doesn?t work. The car is a 57 meteor Niagra 300 I?m not sure if they are different than the fords.
I can?t believe it will ever run again!

With the trunk open, look around to the back-side. There should be an access hole to remove lock assembly and then emblem. I did mine a couple years ago, and I don't have the car here, but it was a easy task. Sorry I can't be more specific.

So many years ago that I removed mine for good, but I am remembering trying to figure out a tool to reach way in and get the big nut off (if I'm remembering the right part). I ended up using a plumber's basin wrench. Somebody else here had another tool they used...maybe a big crow's foot.?
What did you use, Les?
I can do this, I can do this, I, well, maybe

Yes that?s exactly the problem that big nut way back there. I will have to make a tool of some sort I guess. Where there is will there is a way

As mantioned.....Plumber's basin wrench.........if you're a home handyman, you probably have one in your toolbox already. google it. It'll work! Probably about 5 bucks at Harbor Freight.
