What is the average lifespan of aftermarket mufflers, like Magnaflows? My car seems to be a lot louder than it was when they were new, 35,000 miles ago.

Rich I don't think there is any "stuffing" in them, just baffles.  The "Flows" on my 08 Shelby are a little over nine years old with about 24K on them and they still sound the same.

good news...your hearing is getting better

I have Flowmasters on two cars.  Both are stainless.  Both with tailpipes.  One set are twelve years old and the other only four years with no change in sound.

"good news...your hearing is getting better"...........now that's funny.
I used a flexible braided pipe connector for my H pipe crosspiece.........possibly it's sprung a leak.
Thanks guys, I guess I was thinking of the regular old mufflers that had a stuffing/mat of some sort.
