Oil pan gasket

I am anticipating to have to re-install the oil pan on my y block before long. Do y'all use any sealer on the gasket? If so what type type and both sides or just on the pan side. Thanks

I've used a very SMALL bead of Permatex black RTV on both sides on the last two engine builds with no leaks. I use BEST gaskets rather then the cork ones.
