Rear Bumper 55/57

Can anyone tell me if they have ever tried to fit a 55/56 rear bumper on a 57 fairlane or custom. I saw one for a 55 at a swap meet yesterday and did not think to measure the width inside. I initially thought it was a custom 300 bumper, it looked very similar.
I have been looking online but have not seen any of them listed as a modification. Thanks

55/56 bumpers will sort of fit, but will rub againce 1/4 panels.
