Oil Pump Sump Feed Seal

I now have the pan back on my 57 292 and I hooked up the sump feed pipe. I have a new seal at the oil pump inlet and it is quite soft. I snugged the nut up a fair amount but I don't know how tight to make it. I don't want to destroy the rubber seal.

I didn't realize that the shop manual specified 10 to 15 ft/lbs. So I got the answer to my question.
