Several years ago, I went through every wrecking yard within 70 miles and stripped out all the upper and lower control arms for '57-59 and all the hood latches for '59.  I have one on both of my '57s and the hood closes like butter.  One spring and one moving part...much better design.  I sold them all years ago.

The 59 HOOD LATCH was also a SERVICE REPLACEMENT for the 1957-58 FORD & BIRD, if that helps in a salvage yard search.
